Securing the Digital Commons and High-Risk Actors: the Common Good Cyber Fund
29 October 2025 at 17:00-18:00, Roundtable 3, Musée de l’Homme.
Cyberattacks increasingly target high-risk stakeholders—NGOs, journalists, human-rights defenders—as well as the core infrastructure that keeps the Internet running. Yet the nonprofits protecting this ecosystem remain severely underfunded. Backed by Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia, the new Common Good Cyber Fund is the first global mechanism dedicated to sustaining these frontline cybersecurity organizations.
In this high-level session, representatives of the donor governments, joined by the Fund Management and the Ecosystem Committee teams, will discuss the Fund’s grant strategy, announce new supporters, and outline next steps.

Disinformation and Democratic Resilience: Tools for Countering Digital Threats
29 October 2025 at 14:15 – 15:15, Roundtable 2, Musée de l’Homme, Room 3, Level 1.5
In an era of rapidly evolving digital threats, safeguarding democratic processes and civic spaces has never been more critical. This session brings together leading experts to explore strategies for countering disinformation, strengthening cyberinfrastructure, and building societal resilience against online threats.
The rapid and exponential evolution and use of AI models have led societies to scramble to catch up and provide robust guardrails against digital threats threatening democratic norms. Solutions do exist to help counter disinformation with advanced fact-checking technologies, protect non-profits against cyber threats, and enhance their cyber resilience at scale. Together, these initiatives offer a roadmap for protecting democratic spaces, empowering fact-checkers and civil society, and fortifying the digital foundations essential to civic life.
Invited speakers:
- Stéphane Duguin, CEO, CyberPeace Institute
- Christopher Locke, EVP & Managing Director, Internet Society Foundation
